Sunday June 30th. Joy of Feeding 2013 at UBC Farms

Celebrate and enjoy comfort foods created and cooked from the heart. On Sunday, June 30th, 2013, sixteen home cooks of different ethnic backgrounds offer you tastes of their family comfort foods at this third annual international food fair and UBC Farm fundraiser. This family-friendly event features children’s activities and musical guests.

Sunday, June 16th. Vij’s takes part in Brewery & The Beast

Brewery & The Beast will take you on a culinary adventure sure to astound your taste buds. Chefs will create dishes using the highest possible quality ingredients for the conscientious consumer. Meats featured will be hormone and antibiotic free, ethically raised, and sourced from farms on Vancouver Island, the Lower Mainland, the Fraser Valley, and select farms in Northern Alberta.

Brewery & The Beast offers guests information on local farms and specialty food producers, unique dishes from top Vancouver chefs and restaurants, delicious beverages, and a true celebration of all things meat.

Chef Vikram Vij is hosting Western Canada’s first ever live online cooking class, from the Vij’s Kitchen at UBC! Recipe ingredients will be posted on our website as well as through our media sponsors (TBD) in advance, so that you can cook in the comforts of home, while following along live and as it happens. Tuesday, March 12th. Cooking class with Chef Vikram Vij at Choices Market

Chef Vikram Vij is honored to join Choices at the Annex (the Kitsilano location of Choices Markets) for an exceptional cooking class & meal paired with fine wines, courtesy of Liberty Wine Merchants, Point Grey. Guests will also have an opportunity to purchase autographed cookbooks written by Vikram and Meeru.

Saturday, October 13th. Chef Vij creates menu for ‘A Night of Miracles’ Gala

Chef Vikram Vij was honored to be asked to collaborate with Chef Frank Gort, and the culinary team at the Vancouver Marriott Pinnacle Downtown Hotel, for the 4th Annual A Night of Miracles Gala benefiting BC Children’s Hospital.

A Night of Miracles is an annual, black-tie gala celebrating South Asian culture and generosity for improving child health in BC. Each year, several hundred guests are treated to an evening of fantastic food, entertainment, socializing and, most importantly, fundraising. Below you will find the gala details for 2012 and how you can purchase a table or single ticket.

Friday October 5th. Vikram Vij to speak at Creative Mornings in Vancouver

CreativeMornings is a monthly morning gathering for creative types. Each event includes a 20 minute lecture, followed by a 20 minute group discussion. The gathering begins at 8:30am with the topic presentation starting at 9:00am and everyone taking off for work at 10am. CreativeMornings are free of charge!
